Roasting Macadamia Nuts
To roast the macadamia nut meats, those has to be in the following conditions :
1. Pre-heat the oven to 225 - 250°F.
2. Place nut meats in a shallow pan, no more than two deep. Depending on the product specifications, we spritz the nuts with salt water just before putting them in the oven to give them a light, salty taste.
3. Roast pieces that are similar in size at the same time. We try to avoid roasting small meats and half pieces with larger whole nuts. They will roast unevenly and possibly scorch the large nuts.
4. Roast the nuts for 10 to 15 minutes or longer, stirring occasionally and carefully as they can scorch quickly. Remove from the oven as soon as they begin to turn brown since the browning process will continue a short while after you remove them from the oven.
We always monitor the process closely by experienced attendant to adjust the timing and temperatures to produce the color, flavor and texture to satisfied quality.
Depending on product specifications, once the nuts are removed from the oven, we then stir with dab of butter or naturally flavored oil, or a sprinkle of salt to flavor. Serve hot or cool, or store in a tightly sealed container in refrigerators for delivery.
